About Rhinestone Acres
Hello! My name is Tammi Hanowski and I am the owner of Rhinestone Acres. I was born and raised on a farm in small town Saskatchewan, however we never had horses or any livestock for that matter; just dogs and cats and a lot of acres of grain and garden vegetables. Fast forward many years, I graduated from Pharmacy, married my pharmacist husband had 2 kids and lived in the city for most of my life.
When my daughter started showing an interest in horses at the age of 7, I thought it would be a passing hobby so I signed her up for some riding lessons. Was I wrong! This hobby turned into a passion and led her to competitive barrel racing. We moved from the city to a small acreage where we could enjoy the country life, house our horses and watch her love of this sport grow.
As a barrel racing mom, I observed and experienced all the needs (and wants) that goes into these performance horses. I started researching and finding products that I loved and used and wanted to represent. This led me here. To my little business called Rhinestone Acres.
Becoming Rhinestone Acres
Rhinestone Acres is the name of our acreage. I always wanted to officially call our acreage this and one year my husband surprised me with a beautiful sign that is now at the end of our driveway. Growing up, I always remember my dad being out in the fields late doing what farmers need to do in order to make a living. Before we would go to bed at night, he would sing “Rhinestone Cowboy” to us over the CB radio. My father suffered from mental illness and sadly passed away in 2013. Rhinestone Acres is dedicated to his memory.
